Descrição
Traffic speed, reckless driving has increased where it is not safe to cross the street, pull out of our driveaways especially during commuting times. Our road is used as an alternative to 19N, Belcher,Keene and McMullen. We are very concern since children have bus stops on the road with some crossing the street. We are hoping you can install speed controls on the road.

Lake St George Dr is functionally classified as a major collector road. The control measures provided in the County’s Residential Traffic Management (RTM) program are specifically designed for neighborhood roads and streets that are classified as local streets or local major streets. Arterial roads and major collector roadways cannot be considered for traffic calming devices.
Functional classification is the process by which streets and highways are grouped into classes, or systems, according to the character of traffic service that they are intended to provide. There are three highway functional classifications: arterial, collector and local roads. Arterial roads provide the highest level of service at the greatest speed for the longest uninterrupted distance, with some degree of access control. US 19, Park Boulevard, Ulmerton Road and East Bay Drive are examples of arterial roadways serving as the principle network for through traffic flow in Pinellas County. Major collector roadways provide a less highly developed level of service at a lower speed for shorter distances by collecting traffic from local roads and connecting them with arterial roadways. Klosterman Road and Vonn Road are examples of collector roadways. Minor collector roadways collect traffic from local subdivision streets and distribute that traffic, within the subdivision to other collector streets or streets having a higher classification. Orange Street and Ridge Road are examples of minor collector roadways.
All remaining roadways in Pinellas County are considered to be local roads. They provide service involving short trip lengths, minimal through traffic, and frequent access to adjacent properties. Pinellas County designates local roads as either a local street or a local major street. Local streets are primarily internal subdivision streets. Local major streets are recognized as having a higher importance to the countywide road network. They serve a higher volume of traffic and sometimes function like a collector roadway.
Issues with Lake St George Dr will need to be addressed by the Sheriff's Office. Re-assigning the issue to the PCSD for response.
