Do you know what the exact address is? I entered 400 Elgin in the Harris Country Appraisal Records (http://www.hcad.org/records/SelectRecord.asp), but no records existed for 400 Elgin.

@Robin - the abutting property is Westheimer Colony Plaza which I believe is part of the City Parks dept.

@Eric - it is literally the first thing on Elgin. I tried 101 as it's the odd side of the street. But smallest #hcad has is 502 which is too high. A bunch of "0" properties are City of Houston

Correction. It appears that on Westheimer the South side of the streets is odd numbered but on Elgin the south side is evens. Go figure!

Hi Tonia - we've been thru this already (please see early comments). The abutting property is Westheimer Colony Plaza which is part of The Spur. The abutting property owner is the City of Houston. If you have different information, please advise. otherwise I will continue to push the City to resolve this issue.

Linda, is the Westheimer Colony Plaza a center or is the spot you are speaking of in the middle of the spur?

Tonia - I don't know what you mean by "a center". It's a patch of land at the end of the spur where it meets Elgin at Brazos. It has a sign that says "westheimer colony plaza" but it has no buildings or businesses. Just some trees/bushes, a broken street lamp and a sidewalk covered by gravel. I will post a picture shortly

I've been submitting broken sidewalk requests for years, but so far the City has done nothing to notify offending property owners or enforce its sidewalk ordinances. Heck the other day a neighbor tore up the sidewalk to install drainage for his pool. He didn't have a permit and replaced what he tore up with gravel. Multiple calls later and the nothing has been done.

The irony is that "offending property owner" is the CITY bc/ the nearest property is the spur and a city park. Go figure.

Linda, did the City ever fix this... as they are the property owner?

I actually moved from Houston about a month ago. As of 1 month ago, it was exactly the same. No change. The worst part is that they renovated all the sidewalks in midtown. Technically this is part of midtown (Bagby is the dividing line). I contacted the Midtown Redevelopment Authority and never heard back. No one seems to want to take ownership of this spot that is the entrance to Downtown from the south.

Linda, thank you. Hope your new city is friendlier to pedestrians! I contacted the Midtown Management District; they claim it lies withing the Montrose Management District boundaries and do not have plans to update it even with the Bagby reconstruction that is working its way there. Will try there with little hope of resolution as think they do not claim the Eastern side of Bagby. Will also try again with the City as the gravel is bad as are the two broken off light posts that need to be replaced. Unfortunate that it is so difficult to fix such an issue with a major intersection between Montrose and Midtown!

Thanks for keeping the dream alive. I believe Midtown is wrong. If you go to their website, they state that the boundary is Bagby. This is clearly on their side of Bagby.

Cases entered prior to our official App launch are being closed. If a City of Houston 311 request is still needed, please call 311, submit a new request using the City’s 311 website or use the new 311 Smartphone App (email and faxes are also accepted, see http://www.houston311.org for more information).

Cases (issues) that require an investigation may result in the original case being closed, and another case being opened if actual work is deemed necessary. The city is working on a solution to provide a link between these connected cases so a citizen may track their issue beginning to end. As each department handles case requests differently, the information contained within the 311 case management system may not always reflect all the information about a particular case.

A "Re-opened" case only opens the SeeClickFix issue for comments on the website. It does not re-open the case within the City of Houston 311 case management system. To follow the progress of an issue, refer to the Houston 311 case reference number when contacting the city. Only the original submitter can then re-close a re-opened case.

Once the cases are closed within the Houston 311 case management system, the issues are automatically "Closed" on the SeeClickFix website. The cases can be followed not only by calling the Houston 311 Help & Info line, but also through the newly released Houston 311 website mapping application, http://www.houston311.org - case information is updated hourly. This new feature allows citizens a view into not only their cases, but also all cases within any area of Houston. New case creation dates and due dates can be also be seen using these features.
