I think it's a state road, route 154. The concrete is from when that was the main drag before route 9 was built.

saybrook road is owned by the city of middletown up to aircrcraft road. it becomes state road from there.

Totally agree. Its andisaster area. Countless speeding trucks rip it up every day as well as people operating heavy equipment on zoned R1 residentially zoned property. This town sucks. The road is concrete from 1975. Its going to have to take some traffic fatalities for a change to happen.
