Descrição

There was a shocking situation on Lark Street today with so many people trying to get home after work. I can't believe people approved sections of the curb to extend into the street. Just like the crosswalks and bus stops on Madison Avenue where people continue to illegally park, the extensions had cars parked in front of them which means they are literally blocking the lane of traffic. These extensions also make the lanes too narrow for some larger vehicles. I have no idea how fire trucks are going to make some of these turns and how are snow plows going to avoid being damaged or damaging these extensions when they won't be visible under snow? This was such a shortsighted decision for the city planners to make. People couldn't even get down Lark Street and, ever since covid, parking enforcement does not address all of the people illegally double parked and parked on the side of Lark Street where there isn't supposed to be any parking. No one can use Lark Street including emergency vehicles and buses, if the street is too narrow, these extensions are blocking traffic flow, people are allowed to illegally double Park and park on the side of the street where they're not allowed, and allowed to park in front of these extensions putting them squarely in the traffic lane. What a mess. One more reason not to frequent Lark Street.
