Oak Grove Elementary School Daily Dismissal's for walking children & parents is a dangerous situation. The lot behind our office (Hendrix Builders) is being used as a parking lot for after school pick ups. The area has been marked off by ropes and tape but have been constantly pulled down. The Lexington County Sheriff's Department Zoning officers have been out to survey the problem. Vehicles drive in and out of the lot and have even driven off Oak Drive across the culvert to get in for picking up the children. My secretary has grandchildren that walk across the street and they have almost been hit my vehicles cutting through the lot. Homeowners turing into the subdivision have to dodge the cars and the children. The school district needs to establish a better transition for the children and others leaving the school grounds. Once everyone has crossed Oak Drive they are on their own. Parents have actually given the Officers verbal abuse about parking in the area and seem to think anywhere is okay. The lot in front my my business as well as the parking pad at my office is used as their designated area for picking up the children. Their excuses range from why not to where else can we get our kids?
