Although you have to wait here for what seems like no reason, there is a very good reason for the red light. It is to stop vehicles from traveling through the set of traffic signals on this section of the Blvd. at high rates of speed. The timing was changed to the current configuration due to several traffic accidents - caused by drivers speeding excessivley - which resulted in fatalities.

that cant be the answer because there is another stop light just a few hundred feet before on the corner of N Fontage. If the problem is speeding then the light on Fontage solves that issue.

well, i guess it depends on how you define "effective". if you mean you can speed through neighborhoods without a care, no. if you mean slowing down traffic so fatalities are prevented, then yes.

i personally prefer the latter.

there's a light 100 feet away!!!!do we need a light every 100 feet!!! that's ridiculousness. and to make my point clear,i didnt say there shouldnt be a light there. i said the north bound traffic shouldnt have a red while the south bound has a green. having a red then does not allow pedestrians to cross (because south bound traffic is going),and it doesnt even allow cars to make a right turn onto grasso because legion ends there and there is no cars coming from that direction! im fine with both ways having a red so the traffic from legion caan turn onto grasso, but they should be syncronized.

Why don't you schedule a time to come to the department. You can meet with the Traffic Signal Superintendant who will go over the traffic signal plans for both intersections and explain the reason for the current configuration. If you are interested in doing this, send an email to:
