kevin... do you know how much that fix costs?? and when your not the person originally held responsible... its easy to spout such a simple fix solution but in reality the house should be rebuilt since foundation is crumbling..

Kevin I cannot come up with the hundred thousand to fix it. I would accept responsibility for same if the previous homeowners would have disclosed but they did not disclose of the renovations that were done to correct the structural damage while under their ownership..I am caught up in an impossible situation. Have tried to contact previous home owner to disclose the renovations done without permits so I can claim Title Insurance but they are remaining mute and non responsive.

OK, so you bought a lemon of a house, can't afford to fix it and the rest of the city is supposed to go without water, sewer and road upgrades????

Secondly, no way is it worth $100,000.00 to fix the basement. New concrete basements are going for about $30,000.00. Stop trying to inflate the cost to try and gain support.

Third, if you think you have been done wrong in the sale, get a lawyer and go after the previous owner. Don't say you can't afford to because if everything you say is true you can't afford not to. If your house falls in the basement, you have go nothing.

As a resident of this particular area, which btw is one of if not the oldest developments in the city, is pleased to see this upgrade being done. Over the last couple of years I have noticed that during and after any signifant rainfall, the asphalt along the curb gutters literally washes away with the rain. This upgrade is long overdue - thank you City of PA!!

Bonnie I am not disagreeing that the work that is being done by the City did not need to be done. I posted concerns related to my foundation walls that are imploding. Foundation walls that were known to be imploding by the previuous homeowner but was renovated to prevent one from knowing or being aware of same.The City has issued two work orders identifying construction completed by the previous homeowner that did not have permits issued or were not inspected by the proper authorities in approving same. If such an inspection would have been completed as required by law they would have been informed that the home was unsafe for selling and habitaion Foundation walls that were noted to be imploding at the time of the previous homeowner owning were not fixed but abandoned by hiding the damage. I specifically inquired as to any renovations or water damage known by the previous homeowner....no knowledge of same was disclosed. I wish I could afford the expertise of Holash, Logue and McCullagh like the previous homeowner . Mr. Holash hasa aquired alot of knowledge and expertise in representing the City of P.A. in enforcing property owners to be responsible for the delapated state of their properties not just selling and unloading on another. Life is unfair and I am patiently awaiting my appeal hearing. An appeal hearing that would present pictures and evidence of the previous owners knowledge and deeds . I am worried that my home will not withstand the settlement of the major constructiuon presently occuring. I am asking for my story to be heard in a fair and honest forum I was duped Bonnie. I was told that homeowners must disclose known hidden defects a law that has no way to be enforced as long as the victims are left holding the financial responsibility that should have fallen on the previous homeowner.

By the way City of Prince Albert the hand delivered notice of the upgrades to be done on 6th Ave West wrote of the road being repaved and the widening of the street. Are safety precaurions or deterances being implemented to slow down the high speed at which vehicles travel this road. Corner homes do have families living next to this street that house several small young children.

So what are we supposed to do? Do you want the entire city to shut down and wait until you fix your house? Maybe just close 6th ave and 19th st so traffic does not cause vibrations that may shake your house, oh I guess the railway would have to stop traffic on the line at the bottom of the hill, but oh well it shouldn't bother them.

Yes you have a problem, but life and infrastructure upgrades do need to continue. Don't like your house sell it, take your loss and move on. If you like it, fix it.

Doug my Title Insurance is still in play...I have been waiting for a date to be schedulled for my appeal to be heard. I love my home and alot of hard work went into securing the mortgage to obtain same. I do not want the City to shut down or to not do much needed upgrades.Just asking for a heads up in allowing one the time to assess the impact on one living in a home where construction methods which were never disclosed hid meta stable foundation walls. I am giving the City the benefit of the doubt in believing that they talked to the individuals who performed the renovations not disclosed "mayor's son" to ensure structural safety. I do not understand the delays in having my appeal heard which has been granted. I do have a responsibility in informing the City of the safety issues posed so that i am not held liable for safety risks posed to others. I have never been given a fair play ground to address my issues in a court of law. The lawyer who represented me forgot to inform me that he represented the mayor's son in handling his matromonial file in knowing of the renovations completed to the seller of this home to me as part of a payback in matromonial fees owing. How a lawyer can submit a Title Insurance Claim and ignore and negate the renovations completed by a previous client that did noit have permits or meet National Standard Building codes is beyond me.
