The City's traffic engineers will conduct a study for the addition of a crosswalk across Bland Road. Please let us know where you see the most pedestrian activity, which will inform where we conduct our counts. Is the intersection of Bland and Ollie the location you were thinking a crosswalk is needed?

It is noted that there is a missing section of curb and gutter with berm on the east side of Bland Road at Ollie Street where the pedestrian death occurred. It would be good if this short section of ditched shoulder were constructed like the rest of Bland Road and provide a better walkway.

I'm not sure what arrangement would be best - at Ollie St, or in conjunction with Steinbeck. Either way it needs to be high-visibility

The whole area, along Bland from Ollie to Steinbeck needs to be considered as a whole. There's lots of office, residential, shopping and dining in the area. Sidewalks need to be completed and perhaps more than one crosswalk, with at the installation of at least one pedestrian activated signal that will stop auto traffic.

@Dwight, agreed! That whole other side of the street (Bland) needs a sidewalk, along the entire street - from Saint Albans to Falls of Neuse.

The Raleigh City Council recently approved the addition of an all ways stop at this intersection (Steinbeck, Bland). Wheelchair ramps will need to be upgraded to meet ADA requirements. This will be done as quickly as resources allow, but will likely take a few months. This does not need to remain open in SeeClickFix for this work to be completed. This location exists in our crews' work order system. Thanks!
