This seems to be a common occurrence in this neighborhood. It doesn’t just apply to this particular address.

I also walk past this house often and always have to walk on their lawn to get around their car which is blocking the sidewalk. This is an everyday issue at this house.

Thank you for your concern regarding the above property. Your "SeeClickFix" comments have been sent to the Department of Community Development for action. The property will be inspected by Community Development Department staff within not more than three business days.

Please note that after an inspection confirms a violation, City Code requires that the property owner or occupant receive a written violation notice with up to ten days to address the violation. If the violation is not corrected after the time period specified, additional enforcement action will be taken as determined appropriate.

Update? The people living there still continue to block the sidewalk with their vehicles. Is this something that is allowed in portage?

I would also like an update. I continue to drive or walk by this house daily and see a car still blocking the sidewalk. I'm curious where we are in this process. Is there hope for change? Should I even bother reporting about other people in the neighborhood who do this? Please let us know if this is an issue that is important to the city. We care, but we wonder if you do.

Could you please explain what you mean when you wrote that the "issue...has been fixed." To me, if this issue has been fixed, it means that cars are no longer being parked across the sidewalk at this address. But that has not happened at this address. During the month after this issue was first reported cars continued to park across the sidewalk. Then I read yesterday that the "issue...has been fixed' and when I drove past this house at 8:20 this morning there was a car parked across the sidewalk. Nothing has changed with this issue yet you tell me it's fixed. I'm confused and frustrated.

I agree with the other person. Every time I have gone there almost always is still a car parked across the sidewalk. In the last month the red truck in the driveway has spent that entire time on four jack stands and has not moved at all. It is extremely frustrating that nothing is being done to solve the problem and I can not take walks on the stretch of the sidewalk without walking into their yard or the road with my children.

This is a common issue throughout the neighborhood not just at this address and if it was really that big of an issue you could have simply spoke to us about it and not having on on going online dilemma about it. Also I do not appreciate photos of my home and vechiles being posted without my consent. Good luck getting reported back everyone!

When the owner reads that neighbors are not happy about the obstruction of the sidewalk, and doesn't apologize, it shows they JUST don't care! Their house can be seen on google maps, etc. If they don't want to have their house shown--be considerate of children, elderly, and all neighbors who walk on the walkways!
