Parks Request ArchivedFarnam Dr New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - East RockI would like to request that Farnum Drive and Park Drive in East Rock Park remain closed forever! There are so many people who cannot use the trails (or are afraid of them) who are taking advantage of using the roads to walk in the park. Jogger, walker, stroller, pets, the elderly, bicyclists...it's amazing! When open, the traffic on those roads is dangerous with many vehicles speeding and driving recklessly. I have also noticed there there is NO DUMPING happening now that the roads are closed. Please consider NOT re-opening those roads to traffic.

Traffic/Road Safety Archived25 Science Park New Haven, Connecticut - DixwellPlease post no parking signs to block 20-30 feet on each side of the driveway. This is a very blind exit that is extremely dangerous.

Chapel St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Wooster SquareDangerous sidewalks on Chapel and surrounding streets. There’s huge areas of root-related upheaves. In some places there’s six or more inches of diffence in height. I have tripped over these and have seen others trip as well.

Traffic/Road Safety Acknowledged468–498 James St New Haven 06513, United States - Mill RiverThere is no pedestrian crosswalk here at the offramp and there is no safe way to walk from James to State Street. This becomes a problem as the district has now opened.

Traffic Signal / Pedestrian Signal Archived85 Whitney Ave New Haven 06510, United States - Yale University CampusAlmost hit by a car which crossed on red lights!
No Pedestrian button for traffic lights
This crossing is one of the most dangerous in New Haven City, and it is just a matter of time before a car hit a pedestrian.
Drivers push and do not respect traffic red lights or pedestrian right of way.
Police should enforce this crossing or City of New Haven could add one of this traffic camera to ticket automatically and electronically disrespectful drivers.
If the City of New Haven really care about pedestrians’ safety it should act now before it is too late.
Tired of being a daily target to agressive drivers who get away with everything. -
Parks Request Archived410 Woodward Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - AnnexThe trees in East Shore Park are in DESPERATE need of being cleaned of invasive and native species of vine which are growing well into the canopy of many of the trees. I would easily say that 95% of the trees inside the park along the areas of unmown lawn especially are affected. As well, two trees have been girdled by vandalism, with many more being girdled by invasives such as bittersweet. I understand the financial crisis of the city and the Park Departments decision to let the lawn go wild for the last two seasons prior to this one, but in doing this, invasives have come in and are scaffolding up most of the trees. This situation is approaching dire.

Sidewalks and Curb damage Acknowledged70 Audubon St New Haven, CT, 06510, USA - Town_Green
The square tiles in the plaza on Audubon St, near Lincoln Way, are getting loose and are getting scattered around. It looks bad and someone potentially could trip.
It would be great if this public space could be repaired before it deteriorates more. Thanks!

Traffic Signal / Pedestrian Signal AcknowledgedAshmun St & Lock St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Downtown
This is an incredibly dangerous intersection for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. It is a high-volume intersection because drivers from Dixwell and Newhallville uses this route to get downtown. There is a stop sign for drivers on Lock St but no other safety features. Therefore, there is absolutely NO safe way for pedestrians to cross: No crosswalk, no 3-way stop, no traffic light. Drivers frequently turn without checking for pedestrians. A cyclist was hit recently and many pedestrians avoid this intersection. It’s a matter of time before a fatal accident happens.
I would like to request a new Pedestrian crossing sign and a painted (ideally raised) crosswalk. It would also help if this was a 3-way Stop to reduce speeds. Thank you for your consideration.

Private Property Issue Archived145 Blake St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Beaver HillsWHEN will the gas station on the corner of Osborn Avenue and Blake Street be taken care of? It is a complete disgrace to the neighborhood. If it isn't going to be thrown down or dealt with, at least clean it up. How many times must the neighbors complain about this? It is a total eyesore and continues to make the entire neighborhood look bad.
