Last night a group of 4 of us were crossing in this crosswalk and as we were halfway through, 3 cars refused to yield leaving us standing in the middle of the road. This is incredibly dangerous and if drivers cannot follow state laws more needs to be done

I second on what it says here! It’s extremely dangerous for pedestrians to cross the road though there’s clear signs for drivers to stop. 99.9% of the time drivers don’t yield to anyone crossing the street.

Thank you for submitting this issue. In-road pedestrian signs have been removed from all City roadways for the winter months in anticipation of inclement weather, but will be reinstalled in the spring. We will conduct a preliminary traffic assessment to determine what type of traffic safety countermeasure is warranted at this intersection. Please allow 3 to 4 weeks for the preliminary study to be completed.

I would like to follow up on this. I see there are other intersections that pedestrian signs in the middle of the road. May it be installed sooner because the winter is very mild. Has to study been completed. No one stops
at this intersection, even if the upcoming light is red.

Please reference my new pedestrian safety comment at the next intersection, Franklin and Palisade. As more businesses open on Palisade, more pedestrians are out on the streets. This stretch of road is getting extremely dangerous for citizens and drivers are increasingly more aggressive on this road.

The entire stretch of Palisade is problematic. We are working on this and the comments and suggestions are great. I compile them into a report for the engineers so they here all of the concerns and suggestions from the residents directly affected when looking for solutions.
