This light is not triggered by traffic... The light is on a timed cycle only. This is due to the strange offset of the two intersecting streets. Instead of a cross street, it has to control each approach seperatelly with each getting its own exclusive green signal. You are waiting for each of the other three approaches to cycle through their own exclusive green. I am not sure if they have budgeted any upgrades to the control system that would allow a more efficient scheme.
