thanks for posting the photo. I wasn't sure how to really describe the scene. It comes and goes. Some days one or two then some days none and others a gaggle. It is very dangerous. I consider myself to be a good driver, defensive and smart but talk about dangerous. They don't care if they hit my car. They could kill someone because they go through the large intersection against the light.
that being said, why can't a cop sit there? Not to mention all the people that come from way behind, to get in the turning lane to go left at the light. That is so incredibly dangerous and negligent I can't imagine no one has been killed by traffic coming the other direction. I might just change my route for the summer since people are going nuts anyway! I didn't know that about the drug runners. makes sense. Also I saw the report on the news about the bikes,

I've seen them too going over the Gray's Ferry bridge. They passed me on the right. They do death defying wheelies and they don't have helmets on. They are extremely loud. They are an accident waiting to happen. I hope they are organ donors because I predict some head crushing injuries are going to happen if this isn't stopped.

What can we do about it? I will contact the news because they have various outlets for citizens. I think its dangerous for all of us. Yesterday I saw them again but not as many and I wondered where are the cops. They have the cameras taking photos for red light violations but no one ever there to stop these kids. I will contact various news agencies now and maybe when I see a cop I will mention it. They will just say they are aware of it like they always say!

a group of young males in my hood who race these bikes through our hood while their parents do nothing were shot. 2 were shot. 3 others went with police for questioning. people say these people are just racing bikes & atvs. they are also involved in illegal guns & drugs. if the cops can't chase them, then the drug & gun dealers give them the stuff to transport. only in philly.

It is always a shock when you see something like an ATV--how those go unnoticed or without getting caught is amazing to me. They aren't as easy to navigate--surely not easy to get away from cops on as motorcycles. So which area are you in--are you in the grays ferry area? That is where I see them all turn--around 30th and grays etc.
