It was a big deal 2 months ago when Troy closed Congress Street to demolish the old Industrial Tool & Die Demolition. It even made the TV news. They knocked walls down for 2 days, and left. It's not even half done, and the site is a MESS!
"They took care of this" - not. The site is still a mess, after years of looking at a pile of gravel and Jersey barriers they finally knocked the buildings down, did some grading, a temporary walk is in, and the curb is crumbling. This site is hardly taken care of. The wall is broken apart and crumbling, falling down, and the graded hillside is just another Troy unkempt lot with some grass mesh overhanging the crumbling wall. Is this the "Troy standard" we can expect for another who knows how many years? It is an aesthetic disaster if not a continuing threat to safety, and certainly not the sort of site you want your out-of-town friends and relatives to drive by. Why wasn't the wall removed altogether and appropriate grading done. If it can be done on 6th Ave across from the fire station it can be done on Congress Street.
