obviously, you do not live in exton station. have you ever tried to get out of that development and turn onto ship rd? absolute nightmare!!!! i LOVE the stop signs (when people actually obey them)!
I agree with Alex's Mom. You had to take your life in your hands pulling out of Exton Station before the 4-Way Stop Signs went up. There were quite a few accidents there when I lived in Lynetree.
Mr. Bob, take rhis either way you want but you must not be a daily traveler of ship rd. If you were you would know better than want to get this 'issue" if you want to call it that, is completly unjustiied. I am a member of a few area fire companies and even with a fire engine or me coming threw with my vehicle and blue lights running it was a threating area to go threw, let alone ets say a camry. We used to average 4 accidents in that intersection a week we are now down to maybe 2 a year. It saves lives both there and farther down ship. It makes u stop and that means heading towards route 30 wont throw you into the woods before constituion road. This issue makes me feel you need to get fixed
Removal of the stop signs at this intersection would be an act of gross negligence by the township. As the volunteer fire fighter so aptly pointed out these signs have saved commuters hours of time from sitting behind accidents, physical harm and damage to their vehicles by dropping the incident rate 99% (208 vs. 2).
Bob, why don’t you find an alternate route instead of driving through my neighborhood as you are likely one of the many who roll through these stop signs or disobey them entirely. May I suggest Route 100, 202 or 352?
also folks its me the firefighter again and if I'm correct ship road is listed as a state road therefore penndot is responsable for road signs and or stop lights. So dont crucifix a township has if it's not there road. West Whiteland has the following (i belive they are state roads) state road in it, Rt 100, 202, 30, 30bypass, boot road, pottstown pike, sweedsford road, ship road. Thats just a few for thought.
The 4 way stop is absolutely needed at this intersection. I live in Exton Station, and without it, no one would be able to get out onto Ship Rd. And I don't know what this guy is complaining about anyway, most people on Ship Rd don't stop fully at the sign anyway.
