Traffic is frequently backed up on the south side of the intersection to turn from New London Turnpike on to Hebron Ave. With the amount of traffic this road sees, this light could really use one lane for each direction rather than a combined straight/right lane.

Are there issues with pedestrian safety here? For pedestrians, narrow roads are much safer than wider ones. Wide roads also may encourage high speeds, which can create more driver injuries too.

An alternative to keep cars moving straight ahead could be to remove the ability to turn onto to Hebron Ave and force cars to take alternate routes. Not sure what the traffic implications for surrounding intersections would look like as a result though!
