I wonder what will be there today. Is there an issue if the vehicles 'rotate' daily? Are there certain hours cars can be parked in the front yard or hours that they can't be parked there?
Code Compliance does not monitor this site. By reporting it this way it requires that one of the other departments pass it on or it won't get there which is not a very efficient use of City resources. If this issue is really important to you to have resolved then I would strongly suggest contacting Code Compliance directly and speaking with an actual person. Their number is 483-4361.
Carol Wood contacted code compliance eight days ago. I filed a complaint through the code compliance website form a month ago. I feel I've done my part to see that an issue is reported in a variety of ways, even though I feel it should only take ONE report!
I have again reported this to Code Compliance and will also follow-up with a phone message. This not allowed under the code unless you are handicapped and you must have proper paperwork.
still a black bonneville in the yard. And now one block east at a house there's a SUV parked on the sidewalk. Who are we supposed to call or do when this happens? I'd hope the police would have driven by in the past eight hours...
Cars on the sidewalk is a parking enforcement issue. The phone number is 483-4240, but they will only respond during normal business hours. After 5 p.m. and on weekends and holidays LPD would have to be called at 483-4600. LPD generally has to be asked to enforce these types of issues. The front yard parking issue, however, is only enforced by Code Compliance. Their number is 483-4361. I know that the respondent the other day said they felt they had done as much as they had to to get this resolved. My point in saying that Code Compliance should be called directly is that 1) they don't monitor this site; 2) if you speak with someone directly you are likely to get quicker action; 3) you will have the ability to speak with a manager and see if this location can be put on some type of watch list since it seems to be a chronic problem. You are of course welcome to use this site. But is not the most effective way of getting your issue resolved.
Code Compliance informed me today that they have checked the location on more than one occasion and have not found a vehicle parking there. They did leave a pamphlet at the home. We still have LPD patrolling after 5 o'clock and they can issue a ticket.

A burgandy Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight was parked and unoccupied on the front lawn today about 3PM with a minimum of four Lansing Police cars on Michigan between the residence and Logan St.
